HOW DO I APPLY TO SENN IB?

Senn is an International Baccalaureate World School, first authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme in 1999. We also offer the IB Middle Years Programme to all 9th and 10th grade students, as well as the IB Career-related Programme to interested 11th and 12th grade students.

Admission to all programs at Senn High School is governed by the GoCPS application process. All students must apply for Senn IB through the GoCPS application portal. Applications for the 2024-2025 school year are open on September 13, 2023.

Please visit go.cps.edu for more information and a link to the application.

How to Apply:

Access online high school application or paper high school application at go.cps.edu.
NOTE: If you do not live in Senn's neighborhood boundary, you should only select SENN-HS-International Baccalaureate (IB) as a choice (Not General Education-IB).

Gr GPA Pts.
A 4.0 112.5 pts
B 3.0 75 pts
C 2.0 38 pts

There is a 2.5 GPA minimum eligibility requirement for Senn IB. That is, the 7th grade final grades reported to CPS in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies must average no less than 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. If eligible, the grades are used to calculate 50% of the points in the student's application score - with a maximum of 450.

HSAE points

Additionally, all applicants must take the CPS High School Admissions Test. Students are given national percentile rankings in reading and math, which translate to points applied to the student's application score - with a maximum of 450 (see the table to the left). For current CPS students, the grades and test score will automatically be collected and entered into GoCPS. Students from non-CPS schools must contact the Office of Access and Enrollment at [email protected] or 773-553-2060 to ensure that grades are reported and that they are registered to take the High School Admissions Test.

Students with IEPs should be granted appropriate accommodations in accordance with their IEPs when taking the Admissions Exam.

Selections:

Eligible students are selected on a point system. Points are based on the student's High School Admissions Test score and 7th grade final grades. The cutoff point total for Senn IB will be determined at the end of the application process, and before selections.
